And the point Gracie brings up about how serious and professional Diaz is, and how he was going to donate his purse to charity…so you walk out on the fight? You yank that money away from the charity? Seems like being “disrespected” (a low-brow bullshit thing more often than not, in my mind, used to justify acting the fool) is a small price to pay to generate cash for a worthy charity, isn’t it?

Then the general whining about how mean Brazilians are. Who cares? If you don’t like it, start up an American BJJ federation. Make prize money high enough that the Brazilian practitioners have to compete. What, the US is going to get beat out by Brazil on prize money? Fucking hell no they’re not.

I’m a little more interested in the alleged PPVs that were sold for this. The hype for it had been growing for months, and there was a tremendous interest in the MMA world. I’m thinking maybe Nick wasn’t told it was being sold online, and wasn’t getting his cut. That would make more sense…while “disrespect” to me is a stand-in word for “I’m a child”, being cheated is an entirely different thing. I could see some dodgy BJJ expo promoter trying to gouge a couple more shillings out of the thing and getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Speculation, of course.

Honestly he’s one of the factors (see Sonnen, Chael and cheaters, steroids) that’s worn down my interest in the sport. I haven’t watched or paid for an MMA event in months, and I’m losing some interest in writing about it. The simple fact is it’s becoming worse and worse, in a lot of ways, while still retaining it’s caramel center of awesome. There’s some bad shit…Dana White springs to mind. But there’s also a lot of incredible athletes and for all I can tell incredible people involved in the sport.

So hopefully this malaise will pass. Maybe when Diaz and Sonnen quit for good. They’re just cancers on the sport.

First, “knocking out”. Yes, he’s got a couple TKO wins, over tough fighters like Jason Day, Jorge Rivera (who he pretty clearly fouled), and Denis Kang, he’s basically lost when going up against the second part he doesn’t get, “the best fighters in the world”. The only fighters who, at the time of the fight, may have been considered amongst the best in the weight class he was fighting in were not exactly smashing into the top ten: Matt Hammill (barely squeaked out a decision win at UFC 75 almost 5 years ago), Sexiyama (another decision @UFC 120 in 2010), and mmmaybe Dan Miller or Denis Kang, even though both those guys constitute “journeymen” rather than the “best fighters in the world”. Not to knock them, or Bisping’s wins. He just doesn’t see to have a firm grasp of English. Which makes sense, seeing as he barely speaks it.

Now, let’s take a look at Bisping’s results versus the actual best fighters in the world. As much as I hate his fucking guts, Chael Sonnen is a top middleweight fighting for the belt soon. He basically dump-and-humped Bisping through three rounds of a clear-cut win (stop whining, fanboys, Sonnen won and he didn’t even have to launder money or cheat with drugs again to do it). Against Wanderlei Silva, who’s best days may be behind him but is still a top 20 Middleweight, Bisping lost another decision, this one much closer. A loss is a loss. Against Rashad Evans yet another decision loss, even closer (at light heavyweight).

And of course, against Dan Henderson, a perennial top contender and what Bisping thought would be his stepping-stone to greatness:

So clearly Bisping has taken one too many hits from the snake. Whatever his record may say to HIM, the UFC clearly sees that it says he needs to beat an actual top contender before he gets consideration for a title shot; decisions against mid-tier fighters and TKOs against als0-rans are not going to cut it. Hector Lombard is being considered for a titles hot because he’s new and exciting and hasn’t alienated everyone outside of England over the last six years. So get the hell over yourself, Bisping, and concentrate on not getting Okami’d by the Barbarian. Actually, I take that back…I need another gif to make me as happy as the above gif…keep complaining, kid, keep complaining.

Rumor coming out of the Diaz camp is that Nick is taking all his triathlon training and joining the 2012 Special Olympics. Nick feels he has the distinct advantage that he was not born handicapped but instead smoked himself retarded. Nick made the decision after failing to overturn his suspension for Marijuana use before his last loss.Nick and his camp feel he will capture the gold but it will be a tough road ahead.

This is how I choose to Remember JCVD

Watched Dragon Eyes last night… bad decision. This movie makes Plan Nine from Outer Space look good. Granted it’s chock full of MMA fighters like Trevor Prangley and Gilbert Melendez so I wasn’t expecting the best acting. The one redeming factor was crazy ass Peter Weller, of Robo Cop fame. He plays some weird Italian mobster who looks like he just stepped out of 1923.

Basically Cung Le plays a guy who is trained by JCVD to seek out revenge on some gangsters. Doesn’t make much sense towards the middle or the beginning or really the end. Gil gets his ass kicked.

This movie gets 3 out of 10 kicks to the balls… or should it be 7 out of 10?

Looks like the horse meat finally caught up with Alistair. MMAJunkie reports he was tested pre fight with 10 to 1 ratio which was above the 6 to 1 allowed. The second sample has yet to be tested which is really dumb.  He might not be eating pounds of testoterone laden horse dick but instead regular horse dicks.

Following his early retirement from the sport of MMA Diaz has turned to his greatest love, butt sex.
